30 Days of Books: Day 22

Day 22 – Favorite non-sexual relationship (including asexual romantic relationships)

Id have to say Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger! They were hilarious when they were younger you could see or rather read the tension between the two... and now... well, lets just say I told you so! Haha! They are aweosme though, they are probably my two favorite characters in the whole series :D

I'll never forget Ron in his auntie Tessie's dress robes and when Hermione turned her self into a cat with polyjuice potion LOL!

30 Days of Books: Day 18

Day 18 – Favorite beginning scene in a book

"A breeze ruffled the neat hedges of Privet Drive,
Which lay silent and tidy under the inky sky,
The very last place you would expect astonishing things to happen.
Harry Potter rolled over inside his blankets without waking up.
One small hand closed on the letter beside him and he slept on,
Not knowing he was special, not knowing he was famous,
not knowing he would be woken in a few hours' time by Mrs. Dursley's
scream as she opened the front door to put out the milk bottles,
Nor that he would spend the next few weeks being prodded and pinched
by his cousin Dudley...He couldn't know that at this very moment, people
meeting in secret all over the country were holding up their glasses and
saying in hushed voices: "To Harry Potter - the boy who lived!"

Which is from Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone.
Because it all started with the boy who lived! It's
what basically got me hooked, because you know if they
let you in on the secret from the start, it's bound to be a good
book/series. ;) I really love the book, and its my favorite out of
the series... because it goes through how it all began, there
is just something that gets me when Harry heads off to
Hogwarts for the first time. I can't wait till the munchkin is
old enough to read these... I hope that she will be into them
just as much as I am :)

30 Days of Books: Day 12

Day 12 – A book or series of books you’ve read more than five times

I think its a little obvious by now but, just in case you missed it... its the sookie stackhouse series by Charline Harris. I just really love how she writes! And if I haven't mentioned it a half dozen times I love the cast of characters. It's also the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling... these books had me at "the boy who lived"... there is just something truly awesome about the stories. And like I said before, I am so sad that they have come to an end.

30 Days of Books: Day 4

Day 04 – Your favorite book or series ever.

I have two... and neither one is better than the other in the same sense that I could pick
a favorite kind of chocolate lol! They are Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse Novels or AKA. "Southern Vampire Mysteries" and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter Series! I love these books so
much! I have every book in the series and I would be seriously lost with out them... I read them over and over sometimes I finish the book, other times I just read my favorite chapters or parts of the books. I dunno what it is about them that I'm so addicted to but I am. I am sad that J.K Rowling ended the HP books I wish it could go on forever... I'd like to see what Harry and his friends are like later on in life and if they have children what those children would be like. And I think that if Charlaine ever ends the Sookie books I will cry! No, seriously I will! They are that awesome!

Oh and just as a side note... I have Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire which I bought in London when I was there in 2000, and it DOES vary just a little. Not the actual story just the language... its my also favorite book to read out of the series.

30 Days of Books: Day 1

Day 01 – A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)

I have a couple that I wish would keep going on for a while...

For example this one I'm reading right now, "The Candy Shop Mysteries" by Sammi Carter they are quick easy reads that I love. I was honestly surprised how much I liked the series for reading my first "cozy mystery series", and now I'm kinda sad that I'm almost done with it.

And this is a little cliche but the Twilight Series, I just wasn't completely satisfied with the ending of book # 4 Breaking Dawn... I want to still see what life is like for them... how the live out Forever... how Renesmee and Jacob's relationship progresses... 4 books was just not enough! I need some more Stephanie Meyers!

I also love the Harry Potter series and wish that could have gone on for just about.... Forever :)

Expecto Patronum!!!

We have finally seen the new Harry Potter!!! It was... AWESOME!!! I am a little sad that they are doing it in 2 parts though...but... I understand why. Don't worry I wont spill any of the goodies in case your still wanting to go see it, which you totally should... because it is AWESOME!!!

And in honor of witchcraft and wizardry, I have crafted up my very own wand!!!
Ohhh and its soooo easy to make... no really! And suuuuuuper cheap! Honestly you cant get cheaper than a rolled up piece of paper and some hot glue! I love it! I'm thinking of making a few more of these since I loved how it turned out and then making a cool wand stand to go with them to grace the top of my entertainment center.

So to make your very own witch or wizard wand... take a regular 8x11 sheet of paper and roll (tightly) from one side the other, once you've got your paper rolled up good and tight take a bit of hot glue and glue down your edge. Then cut off each end just a tiny bit and fill that in (very carefully) with hot glue. Let that dry for a few seconds and then begin to glue around all the sides of the "wand" to make the "bumpy" "magical" look. Once that dries you can begin to paint it. I painted the wand part brown first and just used one coat because I liked the way it made it look like wood. After that dried I just took a bit of metallic green paint and painted the "bumpy" "magical" part and Viola! You're ready to start dueling!
