Catch Up! Halloween, Thanksgiving and all that's been going on lately!

I'm am so sorry I've been absent for a while now. We have been so busy with holidays, events, visits from the parents/grandparents, work and school. So I will try to catch you all up on what's been going on.

We had a great Halloween, the kiddo dressed up as Snow White this year and the hubby and I dressed up as Beetlejuice and Lydia (from the 90's annimated TV show) and we took the munchkin to the mall for Mall-O-Ween trick or treating. It was awesome and the hubby was pretty much his own attraction becuase EVERYone and their mom wanted a picture with Beetlejuice! LOL!
My little Snow White, complete with Poison Apple and all!

Love this pic of her!

My hubby... the ghost with the most!

Hubby has been busy at work and has also applied to the masters program at George Mason University. I can't believe the man is going for his masters already but it's fabulous! I am so freaking proud of him and can't wait to see what great thing he does next! He is incredibly smart and can pretty much do anything he sets his mind to. The kiddo has been doing great in school as well, and is moving along "swimingly" in her swim class! I also have been taking some time and checking out a computer forensics program with SANS and am actually loving it!

Last month my parents came to visit during the week of Thanksgiving. My dad came up with my mom this time and it was our first time having him here at our new house. It was very nice to have them both here for the holiday. We went to DC and took them around to see some of the famous spots and check out the Christmas lights at the National Zoo, it was pretty and great time!

Thanksgiving 2013!

We went to see Frozen too!

And found DC's version of a "German Holiday Market"

Snow Tubing for the first time at the National Zoo with her Daddy.
This Friday is the kiddos birthday (on Friday) and the hubby's parents are coming up to celebrate and take her tubing up at one of the Mountains in Pennsylvania, it should be a GREAT time!

Greetings from the Sunshine State!

Hellooooooo from sunny Florida!!! We made it to Florida! YAY! We actually crossed the state line on Saturday May 26th, despite the child having a stomach bug straight from hell (including projectile vomiting) and driving through Tropical Storm Beryl... we made it just fine! :) It has been hot, Hot, HOT since we arrived! Thank god for pools and A/C! I still would choose to take this heat over the heat and humidity in Mississippi any day of the year! At least down here we have a nice ocean breeze. We even grilled out on Memorial Day, it was under the awnings of my in-laws house since we were slammed with rain but never the less we did cook out! LOL! Now that we are finally here and have been patiently waiting to come to my sacred meca/homeland I find out that hubby might be home sooner than expected as well... but... it is the Air Force and just like any other branch of service... I am not going to hold my breath, nothing is ever set in stone unless he has a ticket in his hand LOL! But wouldn't that be nice... on the other hand he could stay just a tad bit longer... I am not quite finished saving up our cruise money LOL! Anyway... hope you all are doing well... will update again soon. Much love from the Sunshine State! :)

10 Day You Challenge

So, I guess I'm kinda turning this 10 day Challenge into an every other day kinda post challenge lol! Sorry... so sew me! Hubby is TDY again (groan) and as per usual, everything starts to fall apart after he leaves lol! What is it Murphy? Do you like messing with me?! LOL! Anyway... on to the Challenge!

Today is about 7 wants! This should be relatively easy... because quite frankly there is alot I want LOL! Oh come on! Don't look at me like that... ;)

7) I really want to go get some Tato Nut Donuts this morning... I have a serious hankering for some pralines! Those are the kind that I mentioned before, that are my favorite... the ones where its like a cinnamon bun and donut came together and had a love child! Oh so good! So why don't I get in the car and just go get some? I'm trying to behave and be good and say... "I don't need the FATnut, I don't need the FATnut!" LOL!

6) I really want a new wardrobe... (although I should probably lose some more weight first) but I am just sick of my clothes... all I wear for the most part are t-shirt and jeans. I want to be a bit more stylish... Especially with fall just around the corner... I love boots and scarves and sweaters!

5) I want to take my car to get detailed... It REALLY needs it! Between the dog being in there and a messy five year old in the back, my poor car looks like its been through the ringer! I also need to get 2 crusty stickers off the back of my window, I have no idea how to remove them... they seem to be stuck on with super glue! So.... if any of you have any tips on how to get it off... I'd be grateful! I'd also like to replace the hub cap that fell off about a month ago when the city was reparing a street and they failed to put cones around the giant hole in the ground! I was so P-O'ed when I saw I was missing a hub cap... it just bugs me, it makes me feel like my car looks trashy LOL!

4) I want a mini break... just me and say mom to go on a little adventure/vacation together... I know for one she needs it (work has been stressing her) and it would be fun just the two of us. With him going TDY alot lately I'd love to just be able to pack up and leave for a week or two... I'm not resentful, its just that well... when hes gone... everything and I mean EVERYTHING falls on my shoulders and sometimes that can be a bit much. I guess I would just like to have the rolls reversed just once... and believe me... his TDY's are the fun kind... the kind where I'm seriously jealous of the places he gets to go to, espeically the next one... :P

3) I want "A Good Day to Pie" by: Carol Culver... surprise, surprise... a book LOL! I seriously can't find it anywhere in the stores around here and I can't figure out why. I can buy it on amazon but its too expensive (I think) for a paperback. I also want the new Sookie Stackhouse book of Novella but I'm not paying $36.00 for short stories. I also want to buy the last J.R. Ward book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series which is Paynes story... but again, I can't see paying over $30.00 for a hardback. I'll just wait till they all come out on paperback. Call me crazy but I like paperback better.

2) I want dad to go to the doctors and get checked out... he worries me... he is a stubborn Irishman (yeah, a real one) and will NOT, under any circumstances go to the doctor... Mom thinks his skin cancer is back again (he had it last year, and actually had it removed...believe me I was shocked he actually went to the doctor about it!) and his hips are bothering him, so much that after 10-15 minutes of walking and he has to sit down before he falls down. He has also started to walk with a limp, I wonder if he might have bone cancer. There are other signs too, like when he gets hurt he doesn't heal as quickly anymore and he has numbness in his lower extremities. Bottom line... I just want him to go to the doctor, get checked out, let them do some tests on him and figure out what's going on.

1) I want a baby... but I think you all know this by now. We are slowly approching our dreaded anniversary of when we started this "baby making adventure" I am sick to death of people telling me it will happen, when it happens. That is really not true in my case, I have documented proof that my body just will not work, without medical help and treatments. Which by the way... I am sick of! I don't think I have ever taken this many pills in all my life! I wish it could come naturally... I do... women who become pregnant naturally really have no idea how good they have it! I can deal with alot of pain trust me... but the emotional scars this is putting on my heart is taking its toll on me. I have my good days and I have my bad days... and I try not to let the bad days show that much. I have SEVERAL (Five to be exact) on Facebook right now that are pregnant, I am truly happy for them, and am not bitter one bit. I just wish I could be part of the club too... I won't lie, it gets hard to read their status's about feeling the baby kick, and picking out furniture and going over names and stuff like that, and with each passing day it gets harder and harder to believe it will happen for me. I am out of faith, and emotionally spent, yet some how I manage to truck on... *sigh*

Now I wish I could have ended this on a happier note... lol! How bout a joke?

A pregnant woman and her husband go to her doctor for her first check up. This is her first pregnancy. The doctor asks her an her husband if they have any questions or concerns. The husband replies, "Well, I'm a little worried about her pain. How much will childbirth hurt?"
The doctor answered, "Well, that varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy and besides, it's difficult to describe pain."
"I know, but can't you give me some idea?" he asks.

The doctor says ok, and asks him to;
"Grab your upper lip and pull it out a little..."
"Like this?"
"A little more..."
"Like this?"
"No. A little more..."
"Like this?"
"Yes. Does that hurt?"
"A little bit."

"Now stretch it over your head!"

LMAO! Have a great day guys! :)

We're Baaaaaaack... From Vacation(s) !!! Part Two...

Ok here we are... hubby is on his way to DC today so I am finally able to sit down and get to the post that I've been meaning to write... the part two of our vacation.

So remember a few weeks ago when I posted about the hubby coming home with a "ticket" and me getting bent out of shape because I thought he got another speeding ticket, well they were in fact 3 tickets to Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure! We decided that since we were going to be in Florida anyway for my high school reunion that we might as well take advantage of it and go now, and it also turned out for the better anyway with hubby trying to save up leave and all for the next two years.

We had an awesome/amazing time, to say the least! It was the munchkin's first time at both parks and my little adrenaline junkie just LOVED the roller coasters (the few that she could ride) too bad she wasn't tall enough for the hulk coaster... she would have loved that. My favorite by far is the new Harry Potter World at Islands of Adventure. The whole area looks like you took some floo powder and ended up right in the middle of Hogsmead! They have Flourish and Blotts book store, Olivanders Wand Shop, Gringotts, you can even have dinner at Hogshead Pub! And then wash it all down with pumpkin juice or a butterbeer! And of course they have the Hogwarts Express and Hogwarts Castle right in the middle of it all. I felt like I seriously just stepped onto the pages of the book! It was amazing! But see for yourself... ;)

Hagrids House! Only wish we could have come around for some tea and cake! ;)

Flight of the Hippogriff Roller Coaster! The munchkin's favorite ride of the park!

The munchkin waiting in line ever so patiently to ride the roller coast for the 10th time that day.

Hubby and the munchkin in front of Hogwarts.

Just walking around in Hogsmead.
Me and my butterbeer, please excuse the sweaty mess that I appear to be, it was extremely hot!

At superhero island in front of the hulk coaster!

Spiderman Ride in 3-D! One of my old favorites.

I don't think this statement could be more true... lol!

The new Rip Rockin Roller Coaster at Universal Studios, look at that 90 degree drop! It runs one whole width of the park, long enough to listen to a song of your choice while riding! Hands down one the coolest coasters ever!

"Tickle, Tickle Mr. Jaws..." That's what the munchkin said while I took the pic. LOL!

My little star on Hollywood Blvd!

So there you have it... our awesome trip to Universal & Islands of Adventure... I would do it again in a heartbeat, hell I would do it again everyday! Hubby is the only lucky one with that sorta experience... he used to work the Men in Black ride while he was there for college at Devry. Hope you enjoyed the post & pics. Have a great weekend! :)

Kentucky Adventures! A Trip to The National Corvette Museum and Plant.

So as promised... here is the big post with LOTS of pics from our trip to Bowling, Green Kentucky last weekend. In case some of you didn't read the previous post... my in-laws, the munchkin and I took the hubby to the Corvette Museum & Plant that is up there. It was freakin awesome! There's actually so much history to the cars themselves, and to think... they almost didn't even make it to the assembly line! Corvette got its start by a man named Zora Arkus-Duntov, he is the man who saw Corvette for what it was... the American Dream Sports Car. He first joined GM in 1953 after he first saw the Motorama Corvette on display at GM's press release in New York. Most designers and engineers didn't feel that Corvette was up to snuff with Europes already very popular sports cars; namely Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche and Mercedes Bendz. Zora saw the potential in Corvette and wrote to Chevrolet's chief engineer Ed Cole and told him it would be his compliment to work on such a beautiful car, and the rest is history.

The first generation Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year and ended in 1962. Often referred to as the "solid-axle" models because the independent rear suspension did not debut until the 1963 Sting Ray (which also happens to be be my favorite model). There are now six generations of Corvette and our's is fourth, hence the C-4 model. Ours is also a bit special because its part of the one millionth models that were produced in 1992.

Needless to say we had a GREAT time at the museum and touring the plant, it was the coolest thing to see how its all made, from the start to nuts and bolts of the engine block to the fiberglass hoods and coupe tops. It was really nice to walk around on the factory floor and see the people who actually make the car we drive. I was very impressed by all the fine workings of the assembly productions. I was unable to take pictures, in fact we had to leave our cell phones and my purse in the car while touring the plant. Yes! GM is THAT serious about their secret productions. ;)

But here are some of the pictures I took at the museum...

Us and my in-laws in from of the museum and cafe.

Our little future vette driver ;)

This particular display I found really cool, below the mural it has a display of pictures and stories from all kinds of military members and the stories of how and why they bought their vettes, I loved the one about a Marine who bought his first vette after his last deployment to afganistan, he had it dedicated to his friend who was KIA and on the hood it has their unit insignia and his name engraved in it.

"I'll take this one mom!"

I don't think any words are more true to my hubbies heart...

Inside the Corvette Hall of Fame, they have every model ever made in here!

And since I was unable to take pics inside, here's a pic of the front of the plant. :)

On Sunday in the morning we went to the Farmers Market where I picked up some wild Kentucky honey (ya, know... the kind that still has the comb in it!) and then that afternoon we took the munchkin to see Cars 2. We would have love to adventure off into the Lost River Caves but they are currently flooded by the torrential rain that Kentucky has had in the past few weeks. Never the less the movie was AWESOME! I almost loved it more than the first movie! And afterward we also found a...

Real White Castle!!! So yeah it was a Jess & Hubbers go White Castle moment! LOL!

The cousins (yes, all of them) are flying in for (everywhere) in the next few days so it should make for a GRAND time! Im doing the last of the laundry (at 10:53pm, even though its against mil. housing rules… I AM a rebel! LOL) and will be packing it all up tomorrow (after Im done gawking around the BX and new Commissary while OD’ing on Sushi with my BFF) and then waking up before the crack of dawn (4:30am) to catch my flight! God I hope the munchkin doesn’t give me a hard time… I will boot her ass out the exit door if I have to (just kidding hehehe!) ;)

Yes I know what your thinking (there’s alot of unnecessary parenthesis lol!)
