My Simple New Year's Resolution

I have a very simple New Year's resolution this year, and I'm pretty excited about it also! Have you ever gotten a recite from a store and done a survey? Have you ever actually won whatever grand prize they have? I haven't... but then again, I haven't ALWAYS done the survey's on the receipt. I want to... I just usually stuff it in my purse and then forget about it. So this year, my resoultion is to do as many surveys as I can! I will do all the survey's that I get from my receipts from shopping and going out to eat. I want to see if I can actually win anything... it's worth a shot really... and what have I got to lose but just a few minutes?

I have already done four surveys so far today. We went out and about on our usual Sunday adventures which include Walmart and usually the mall. The munckin bought a book at Books-a-Million and I came home to enter into their survey of winning a $350.00 gift card. We also went to Petsmart where I did their online survey and I got an "instant reward", buy doing their survey I will save $3.50 on Ace's next grooming (which really does save since his nails cost about $9.00 to get done) so 2 minutes of my time for a $3.50 savings is worth it to me! I then went to dunkin donuts and bought two separate items so I got two receipts. Both receipts let me fill out a short survey and at the end I got a "instant reward" of any donut for free when I buy a medium or large beverage! Side Note: I bought the hazelnut K-Cups for my coffee maker tonight and they are freakin AWESOME! LOL!

The survey's are not hard and most of them take only 1-2 minutes. Out of all the survey's I filled out today, Books-a-Million was the most simple, it quite literally took me a minute! Probably would have took less, if I didn't write almost a paragraph on my awesome experience with my favorite sales associate. He's pretty awesome, and always in a very friendly mood. I seriously hope he gets sales associate of the year!

Back to our regularly blogging program.

I dunno about you guys but I feel like this past week has been a whirl wind! I can't believe its already Tuesday! And I thought last year went by fast, this year is bound to prove me wrong... We have had an awesome New Years, spent at my In-Laws house. We had dinner with hubs friends from high school and later champagne and fireworks! (Don't worry its safe, I'm not preggers yet.)
Speaking of that, I have called my doctor and he is currently on his guard duty! Goooooo figure! So he will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks, I have left a message with the nurse and they say he will call me back... ha! We shall see...

We drove home on Sunday... and it was a looooooong drive. Nearly 7 1/2 hours. I was just greatful that the munchkin was well entertained, somewhere along the long drives from Oklahoma to Florida to Georgia to Mississippi and back again I have figured out a mass of items that will entertain her. Just call me Yoda of road trips! LOL!

So since we've been home I have been vacuuming, laundering, dish washing, tidying, and SEWING! ZOMG! Do I just loooooooove my new sewing machine... I can tell already that her and I are on our way of becoming BFF's! I have made two projects already (just today!) Woohoo! Yeah I'm on a roll! Wanna see what I made? They aren't anything crazy award winning, but I like them! Oh, and those of you who voted for me during the dollar tree flair for crafts project... I sincerely thank you! I did not win any of the prizes, however I do appreciate all your votes and going out of your way to give me the shot at winning :)

So on to my goodies... cause I know you all are just dieing to see them...lol!

This little cutesie cuppy cake apron is my first project with the sewing machine.

This would be my second project of the day... a tea wallet for me mum :)

This is what the inside looks like. Its basically a little accessories for tea on the go. You can store your little tea bags in this handy dandy wallet and then toss the wallet in your purse. My mom drinks tea every morning at work so I figured this would be perfect for her! I cant wait to send it to her... I'm also thinking of making one for myself, I have a bit of the fabric left over and I only used half of a big fat quarter... just need to get a little bit more of interfacing. :D

Hope you liked my projects, I think the next thing I'm gonna work on is my .45 cal earrings... better get the dremel out ;)
