I have this long pretty window right by my front door that I really actually love, but do hardly anything with. Its skinny, plain and has boring standard ole mil house mini blinds in it. I usually try to dress it up with seasonal window clings or I try to hang stuff from it using suction cup hooks, but I have nothing in the fall department... I have plenty of Halloween, Christmas and even Easter but I didn't have anything for the month of November... and well, that just wont do!
Whats a girl to do...??? Hmmmm...
I think I'll craft something up myself! And that's just what I did. As always with my crafty projects it was suuuuuper easy! I swear! I even used old pieces of felt I had from left over other projects. I cut out maple leaves with the felt. Two of the same size and color, one is for the front and the other is for the back, because your gonna put clear fishing line in the middle... yeah that's right FISHING LINE! (see, yet another reason to just call me Mrs. MacGyver! LOL!) Cut the fishing line in 2 long pieces, because this is what your gonna glue your leaves to.
After I had all my pieces cut out and my fishing line ready, I just hot glued the fishing line in the middle of the felt leaves and then around the edges of the leaves to close it up. And Ta-Da! Your done! Just dont forget to take a little extra piece of fishing line and make a loop to hot glue to the top so you will be able to hang it. The best part is you can arrange the leaves in any order and place them at any angle and it looks great! Its honestly fool proof!... just don't burn your fingers together with the hot glue gun like I did ;)
Oh wow.. Hot gluing my fingers would be awful.. I hope they are ok! .. Or you are ok, haha.. It does really cute all the pretty colors! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat does look nice! I have a couple windows that could use a little decoration. I just need to get organized enough to do something like that.
ReplyDeleteBut I would totally burn my fingers too. Sigh. (Hope yours are okay!)
Very nice :)
