Operation: Oh Baby!

So surgery went well. Hubs went in on Monday around 10:30am even though it was supposed to start around 8:30am (that's docs for ya.) They knocked him out for the whole procedure, which ended up being about 4 hours long. At the end of it all his Dr. came out to talk to me and said that things look really good, he said our chances as of that moment were really favorable. He was a bit groggy after surgery and he had to stay in recovery for a few hours but after that we got to go home. He has this week off from work and he’s just to pretty much lay around and be lazy. I try to do as much as he will let me do for him, which is a struggle for him to let me do… hes just not used to it. I just want the conditions to be ideal and for our chances to be close if not perfect, and well if that means sleeping on the chase lounge next to the bed for a week then so be it! lol. I think of the baby that I want to have and well that incites me to do just about anything! I have to say hes been really good about the recovery part hes been uncomfortable but I think thats pretty much from the dressing and the support. He hasn’t had much pain either, in fact he hasn’t even had to pop any of his pain pills, which is amazing too… if it were me Id be eating them like candy lol! He has a follow up in 3 weeks and they will check him out and probably do a test or two and then the doc will give us the green light hopefully. After that the fun will begin and we also get to play the waiting game each month… hopefully we wont have to wait forever. I think that’s gonna be the hardest part for me… to have patients. To understand it doesn’t happen instantly for even normal couples let alone our “special’ situation.I just have to be patient and not get discouraged… I know… easier said than done. lol. I know its a long shot but I still wish on my 11:11’s, my 12:12’s, shooting starts, trains with even cars, 4 leafed clovers and whatever else it takes… after all its what got me this far.

Step 1: Find a doc that does the procedure.

Step 2: Have procedure done.

Step 3: Get pregnant.

And so far so good. ;)

Hopefully this will be me soon.

Lets just hope its not a bakers dozen ;) LOL!

Going to see the baker about making a bun.

Hub’s had his pre-op on Friday. He got the call late Thursday afternoon saying the doc in Pensacola had 2 cancellations and they were calling to see if he wanted to come in. Of course he jumped at the opportunity, and Friday morning at 5 am we were on the road to his 8am appointment. We are going back tomorrow for official surgery… Oh how I hope this goes so smoothly… I am so ready for this, Im so ready to be a mommy again. I just pray everything works out perfectly.

Last week the circus came to town

Last week was our squadron’s summer picnic and it actually turned out awesome. Im glad its over with, the hubs had been stressing out about it for weeks.Hes part of the Booster club which was putting it on. It was alot of fun, the top 3 grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and then everyone else just brought stuff. We had games for the kids like ring toss, duck hunt, water gun shoot out, face painting and a bounce house. There was also sumo wrestling and a cut throat scavenger hunt musical chair type thingy… Which was hilarious. Hubs literally ran hauling the munchkin around on his shoulder… and he was worried about the run with a ruck sack! Ha, I think hes covered! We also had the unveiling of our new 338th Dark Knights merchandise.

And as always here’s the pics.

So the item was “shoelace” and he wasn't allowed to use his own and since I wore flip flops he had to do something… and what did he do? I grabbed an Airman! The conversation went something like this…

Hubs: “AIRMAN, COME WITH ME RIGHT NOW! I NEED YOUR SHOE!”

Airman: ” Yes, Sir!”

Hubs: “AIRMAN TAKE YOUR SHOE OFF! I NEED IT!”

Airman; “Yes, Sir! Here Sir.”

Hubs: ” I’ve got a shoelace!” *waves Airman’s shoe in the air*

Hubs: ” Thank you Airman, that is all.”

Airman: “Yes Sir, Thank you Sir, Glad I could be of assistance Sir.”

LMAO!!

During the scavenger hunt. This is how he hauled her around… while running.

All suited up for some sumo!

She tried to go save her Daddy…

Some AFI airman “selling” popcorn, peanuts and cotton candy

Awkwardly Ok...

Saturday night was the hub’s 10 yr class reunion. It was awkwardly ok… I wasn’t 100% comfortable yet I wasn’t 99% uncomfortable either. I met alot of people I just happen to see on facebook all the freakin time, so it was good to see them in person instead of stalk see them on online lol. The food was kinda meh, but it worked… this wasn’t the kinda thing you go to expecting to eat. The music was good but his group of high school buddies was just to small to get anyone out there on the dance floor without looking like an idiot (even with alot of alcohol). And speaking of alcohol that was actually pretty good and reasonably priced and a good thing too seeing how I was in the need of liquid courage. My poison is my classic Bacardi and Coke… didn’t want to over do it with the long islands, which are usually my first choice… it really depends on how much “courage” I need ;) Bottom line… most people didn’t care to talk to me or see how Ive been for the past 10 years, which is to be expected seeing how Im not the one who graduated with them, oddly enough I was more comfortable in the back seat on that night. The hubs played a good wingman, he didnt leave me but for a few mins. not that I wanted to be up his ass either but you know how it is when your at awkward social events… and Im not little miss sociable either. Point is… it gave me an inside look as to how next year will go for mine. Man, I really hope they have one… Im dieing to see some of the old high school riff raff I used to hang out with lol. I haven’t heard anything thus far as to planing the event but then again its a whole year away.

So yeah…sigh

Here’s some pics for your enjoyment to sum up the event.

His graduating class. The people who came, out of the graduating class. Ok the graduating class minus like 5 people LOL!

He took this (obviously) of me getting ready because Im a basic jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, I dont get dressed up for anything so he just HAD to take a pic to remember the moment… apparently its a big deal when I get all gussy’ed up.

I dont quite remember why he was busting out in Air Guitar style but apparently it was funny as hell. Someone had commented that he looked like Michael Jackson reincarnated and that made me laugh my ass off.

The guys (these are the guys he is claiming BFF-ness too) Hubs is in the middle with the AF Blues on the guy in the green shirt, he has known since middle school and the guy next to the guy in the green shirt, he has known since kindergarten. They are flinging the W’s because they are all from the west side of Jacksonville… yeah not Compton.

And just to clarify hubs went to what I like to call; “Geek High School” it was a public school but their classes were computer electronics, engineering, drafting, Aerospace engineering… etc.

I love my G33K ;)

Silly bandz are... well...SILLY!!

Ok so my daughter has been DRIVING ME NUTS & BUGGING me about these

stupid “Silly Bandz” they are these little rubber bands that the kids these days are wearing as a fashion statement. Yes, that’s right RUBBER BANDS for gods sake!

I am honestly feeling my age today… I remember we collected stickers and later in high school it was pog’s the girls traded slap bracelets and the guys had baseball & football cards… but seriously rubber bands? Has it come to that? I think its ridiculus to spend $4.00 on a pack of “speical rubber bands”… but of course like any other parent usually ends up doing just to keep from being nagged to death…

I caved… lol.

And here is the result…

Lately and a Prediction

Not a whole-whole lot has been going on lately, just typically the usual. The 4th was fun, we spent it with friends who live down the street. We just grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs and our kids played in the kiddy pool and had squirt gun and water balloon fights, that night we went down to the beach and watched the fire works while trying not to get torn up by the mosquito. Today I went out with the girls to lunch at Chili’s and then we went to go see Eclipse. I loved the movie of course because it is twilight after all but I loved this one particularly the best because of the way it was made and the light that was shed on alot of the “sidekick” characters. I love the angles that they shot in the movie. There was definitely alot more action and and waaaaaay more drama but it was awesome! It was how I expected it to be and I felt satisfied but not completely because I want the next one to come out like… tomorrow. LOL!

This week will probably fly by or at least I hope. Friday we leave for Florida again, Saturday is the hub’s 10 year high school reunion… woooweeee! 10 years.. yeah hes an old fart LOL! I guess I shouldnt talk, mine is next year. LOL! Im kinda nervous, excited and intimidated all in one. I just hope its not huge and I hope he doesnt do the “stupid guy thing” which is leave me by myself with a whole bunch of people I dont know or want to talk to so that he can go rub their faces in show off his vette to his high school buddies and take turns taking them for rides, because that would be very lame and Id be pretty peeved. I hate, hate, HATE being stuck with people that I dont know at all and have nothing to talk about, but I can almost predict that it will happen. :P Oh well… so long my nightmare doesnt come true it wont be a total FML, and no Im not going to elaborate. :P

I wear his t-shirts at night so I can feel him hold me, thats how much I love him.

So the hubs has been TDY this week to Alabama (its only for a few days) its not the first time he’s had to leave, and it definitely wont be the last, it isn’t the shortest time Ive been without him and it isn’t the longest time either, but never the less I miss him. Every time he has to leave it reminds me of how much I love him, not because Im lonely, not because Im bored, not for lack of adult conversation… its just simply that I love him. I miss him when hes not around, I miss looking over at him on the other end of the couch and catching his smile or seeing him come home from work, giving me a hug and a kiss and then talking about our day. I miss his smile, I miss his hugs, I miss his kisses, I miss his smell… I miss kicking him off the bed at night…. yes, our bed is TOO big without him. I wear his t-shirts at night so I can feel him “hold” me… thats how much I love him. Cant wait to see him on Friday.

A Feel Good Movie

I watched the blind side tonight. It was amazing, it was heartfelt and humbling and I bawled my eyes out through most of it. The story was like a life lesson, one that I needed to be reminded of. It now ranks high on my list of favorite movies. I like that its based on true facts and that its not just a story someone made up. This was a mans life, it was his big chance at a real life. Sandra Bullock I think does superbly as “Momma” and Ive never seen Tim McGraw act before but hes does an excellent job as supporting actor and the husband. Quinton Aaron the man who plays Michael Oher (yes, as in the real NFL player for the Baltimore Ravens) really delivers in this movie. His performance is amazing and not only does he deliver the lines, he says them in such a way as to make you wanna gasp every time… just a bit. The story its self is a “rags to riches” kind and has some of the best “life’s messages”. Just watch it, you will be impressed, humbled and a bit more thankful for the “family” that you have. No matter who they are.

Busy Little Beeeeeeeeez!

It has been very, very busy since Memorial Day. The Friday before it my in-law came in town and Saturday we took them & our friends down the street to New Orleans. We walked the French Quarter in blistering 98 degree weather and checked out the Aquarium, which was cool but not all that impressive. I honestly believe they wanted waaaaaay too much for their tickets. They make it so you almost have to buy a yearly pass… which was exactly what we did. Had we not we would have paid $69.95 for 2 adult tickets and $26.95 for 1 child ticket. The year pass cost us $95.00 and gets us into both the Aquarium and the Zoo, So yeah we opted for the better deal.

Pretty awesome Bar

St. Peters Cathedral

River boat going out to Lake Pontchartrain

Stingray in the underwater tunnel.

Orange puff fish… I dont think he liked me taking his pic! LOL!

“What you lookin at?”

Sunday we pretty much just hung out and Monday my FIL made THE BEST BBQ pulled pork! No, really… it was freakin AWESOME! Tuesday the in-laws left for JAX and took the kiddo with them so that the hubs and I could go to his doc appointment at Pensacola NAS. Which went well yet still a very wishy-washy answer. :( We have the next step worked out, were just hoping they dont cancel on us… so keep fingers crossed and hold your breath! After the appointment we headed to JAX and later that night we attended the “Ultimate Truebie Fan Experience” … the passes I won. We didnt get to meet the cast, it was a Q & A done live from LA with the cast… they sorta lied. LOL! But we did get to see Season 2 Finale on the big screen along with a BIG sneek peek of season 3, and at the end we got goodie bags filled with lots of TB swag! That part was awesome! Wednesday we headed up to Augusta GA, to go see our friends from our last duty station. The hubs’s BFF is deploying and we wanted to see him off before he has to leave. It was good to go and Im glad we drove the 4 hours to see them I missed them alot. Thursday began the loooooooong drive home (9 1/2 hrs) we finished it up with dinner at El Ranchos and now the hubs is working on his vette and Im finishing up the house work. :sigh: I think the mini vacation is over. LOL!
