What's going on and last day of the "Ten Day You Challenge"

Hey sorry alot has been going on... well ok, not that much but I just haven't had it in me to blog. I spent a good amount of time hanging out as a family this weekend. Since Tropical Storm Lee decided to make our Labor Day suck rainy, we stayed indoors and watched movies, played with play dough and went 4 rounds of Candy Land; where the munchkin spanked the pants off of us each time!

In baby news; I went to the fertility doc last week in Mobile and they did my baseline ultrasound. This time they put me on a medication called Letrozole/Femara... and man am I feeling the weird side effects from it. The first day I was on it I had a migraine from hell. I have also experienced dizzy spells, lightheaded-ness, twinges on my ovaries, hot flashes, palpitations, and just the general feeling of being kinda tipsy lol! Like I said... weird side effects! I just hope the pills work as well as the side effects do on me. They decided to give me this kind of medication instead since Clomid doesn't work on me. I go back to the doc tomorrow for my ultrasound to see if there are any folicals and hopefully there are. During my baseline ultrasound they discovered this month my left ovary is all clear and my right ovary has a small cyst. They will be monitoring it and hopefully it wont grow and dominate the ovary... that is one of the reasons why I don't ovulate... these cysts become giant a-holes and tend to dominated the ovary it is inhabiting and wont let it do its job. So keep your fingers crossed that my left side will cooperate this month, I will update again after tomorrow.

Today is also the hubbies birthday! He turns the big 3-0! We're not doing too much that is special today since he has his big PT test tomorrow, he wants to be in perfect condition for it tomorrow. I made him some low fat banana pudding for later when he gets home and we will go out for dinner to celebrate this weekend. We're not doing a whole lot since we did his big present this summer... remember the trip to the Corvette Museum...?

And I guess I better finish up that "Ten Day You Challenge" huh? I think I've stretched it waaaaay beyond the ten days... but you don't mind right? LOL!

Soooo... Ten Secrets!

10.) I love the smell of books! Yes! Weird... I know! That's one of the main reasons I still buy books and why my nook just sits around and collects dust. I also hate hard covers! Why? Because I'm a spine creaser! Ooooooh! I know right? Major no no! But I can't help it. I like how it looks too. I think it gives my books character...
I think it looks well read. And a well read book is like a good friend to me. :)

9.) I am addicted to nail polish! I have a shelf in my bathroom (that looks like the kind in the salon) that is completely full of nail polish! I am an addict, I can't stop buying it or using it. I don't think I've actually seen my toe nails (other than to take the polish off and re-paint them) in probably over 12 years!

8.) I want to own my own movie theater one day... I know how crazy that sounds but I have always loved movies and I think it would be really awesome to have a movie theater. Not like an AMC or Cinemark but a family "mom & pop" style theater...
and I won't charge $9.50 for a ticket either!

7.) Id love to write my own book one day too. Either a mystery or a children's book.
I've always wanted to be a writer, I just don't think I'm that good at it
(I know... your probably nodding your head in agreement that I'm not lol)

6.) I don't know what I want to be yet... and that to me is scary. I just can't decide... I know what I'm going to do and what I'm going to school for, but is it really what I want? I dunno.

5.) I want to move back home, as much as I love Biloxi and being so close to New Orleans. I'm sick of all this. I'm sick of the military and I'm sick of being away from my friends and family. It's been real good to us with all the benefits and all but I am done.

4.) I love the way my dog smells lol! I know how gross that sounds but I love it! He still has that musky puppy scent and its really loveable!

3.) I looooooooath chucky cheese! And the munchkin wants to have her birthday party there this year... I am trying my hardest to talk her into having it ANYWHERE else but there! I don't know what it is about that place but it makes my anxiety go off the scale and leaves me with a headache and empty wallet later.

2.) Oooh ooh... ok if the movie theater doesn't work out I wanna own a tea shop. Like the kind you can go in and sit down and have any kinda tea and some awesome tea sandwiches or dainty lady fingers?

1.) I have set a limit to the "having a baby" time... my limit is 32. I won't go past that. I think by that time it will be just too late for me. My cousin had her children late in life... 30 for her son and 32 for her daughter and then 4 years later she had cancer and died. The doctors told my Aunt and Uncle it could have been brought on by having her children so late in life. Female cancer's are dominate in both sides of my family and it scares the shit out of me. It's not the getting cancer and dieing part (which I'm not ready for... believe me) its more leaving your young children behind. I can't imagine growing up with out my mom, I can't imagine having to leave them and never being able to see them go to prom, graduate from college, get married and have children of their own. Sooo much is missed out on both parts and frankly that just scares the shit out of me. I won't risk not being there to see my daughter grow up and become a mother some day herself for the sake of a dream. I have a daughter, whither or not she came from my body she is mine and I can be satisfied with her being my only love.

10 Day You Challenge

Nine Loves; Only nine? I love lots more than just nine... but here are the ones that fit the bill.

9. I love my dog! He is awesome! He never (I haven't heard him yet) bark, whine, or growl. I think its cute that he loves to stalk (through the french doors) the pigeons and seagulls that land on our back porch. He is sweet, and loveable and is good with the munchkin. I love that he wants to snuggle and how he lays on his back in my arms and wraps his paws around my hand. Kinda makes me feel like hes showing that he loves me back.

8. I love mom's cooking... and frankly, I miss it! There are days where I just wanna make the 12 hour trip home just to eat her food.

7. I love reading! Books, Books, Books!
I could spend all day reading! (and sometimes I do) I am always adding to my, never ending "to read" list and always adding more books to my collection. I love checking out old libraries too.

6. I love visiting NOLA (what we call New Orleans; and just for the record its pronouced like Ne Awlins... yeah drag that A out like an Ahhhh. Not New Oar leans)
there is always something new I see there when I visit. If it were just me; I'd have a little apartment down in the French Quarter not to far from Jackson Square and have a job giving tours to the tourists.

5. I love going to the movies! Even though I don't get to do it that often and the prices are still completely outrageous... its still fun to me, to go see the movies up on the big screen... I also like drive inn movies the best, now that I finally got to experience it while living in Georgia. They have one that's not far from the Georgia/South Carolina border. Its call "The Big Mo" and its in Monetta South Carolina. Its a rinky dink town in the sticks but great drive inn and nice people who own it. Tickets are extremely reasonable too... 5 bucks a car and free refills on your drinks!

4. I love my AR-15. LOL! Funny... you all didn't see that coming did you? It's true though... that gun is my favoirte out of our little yet growing collection. It fires so smooth and easily, there is hardly any kick back either. In fact my .45 has more of a kick than the AR does. It also makes me feel a bit bad ass while shooting it. It makes me feel even more bad ass when I shoot 28 out of 30 on kill shots ;)

3. I love my momma! She has done everything in life she possibly can for me.
Shes has taken care of me all my life and still does. She is an amazing woman, and if anyone ever says "man, your just like your mom" I consider it a honor. There is no one I look up to more. I could only hope to be half the woman she is some day.

2. I love my husband, he's my best friend and means everything to me.
He supports me in every way he can. He gives me strength when I need it and a love like no other. He is the best thing that ever happened to me me and I dunno what I'd do without him. The more I think about it, the more I think we were born for each other...
considering we've known each other that long.

1. I love my daughter! That child is the most amazing, cutest, little ball of awesome ever!
She makes me smile when no one else can, she loves me unconditionally,
she is the best thing life ever gave me and always will be.

10 Day You Challenge: Day 8

Eight Fears... that's alot...
Alas, this will be easy yet difficult for me... why?
Because I am a worrier... I worry about everything...
Constantly...
Yep, even right now.
What could possibly going on right now that I am worrying about?

How my munchkin is doing in school, is she behaving?
Is she being picked on or being made fun of?
(I have serious issues with that myself because
I was both picked on and made fun of my whole life)

Is my cousin ok? Is she going to lose her mom to cancer...?
How is she going to deal with all that... shes only 24 years old. She has no one else.
Her dad is not apart of her life. I don't even think he knows his "ex" (they are not officially divorced; just separated for over 10 years) wife has cancer.

Silly right? Why worry...cause it gets you nowhere? I dunno... its just something that I do.
And something I can't ever stop. Its so bad for me that it physically hurts me.

But why is this so hard? Because I keep it all bottled up... I am not one that shares that softer more vulnerable side to me. I was just not raised to show emotion. Not that my parents ever said or punished me for showing it. It just wasn't done. Both my parents are strong and emotionless on things that bother them, I also have this trait. If there's something wrong with me or I'm upset, you'd never know it... unless I'm at my breaking point, and even that is usually done privately. Nope, I keep it all bottled up, locked away, where no one would see it. That's why this makes it incredibly difficult to say all this. Never the less, here it is... on display where everyone can see it. Just don't ask me to do it again. *Deep breath* and here we go...

8. I fear that I will not get to do everything I want to do before I die.
I also fear that it is my destiny to die tragically. I dunno why, but I have felt like that all my life.

7. I fear that I will never have a baby, and that the munchkin will be all alone in life after her father and I die.

6. I fear that I will get a phone call that something has happened to my mom, she is extremely stressed and depressed about work lately, she has high blood pressure and I'm afraid she will have a heart attack or a stroke from all the stress.

5. I fear my dad's cancer is back.

4. I fear that I wont be good at college, and that I will be just wasting my time.

3. I fear that I will just be another disappointment to my family and my husband if I don't do something meaningful with my life soon.

2. I fear time... the older I get the more quickly it seems to slip through my hands.
I fear I wont have enough time with her while she is young and I will never have another one to share these moments with. I think about that all the time (during monumental events with her) that this is it... that all I get in this moment...
and I'll never get to experience it with another child.

1. I fear that I am not good enough with her. I fear that I will fail her. One day I will have to tell her the truth about what happened and how I became to be her mother. I fear that she will resent me for it, and not telling her all those years,
and I fear as a result of it my heart will break and I will be all alone in life.

And just one more added bonus... to make this not sooooo serious of a post. I have a really irrational fear... I fear those modular homes being moved on wide load semi trucks. I fear that they will fall off the truck as I'm driving next to it and crush me and everyone in the car with me to death. I know... sounds like some "final destination" crap right? I actually saw this happen though, on my way to the airport once, when I was flying to England. Honest!

10 Day You Challenge

So, I guess I'm kinda turning this 10 day Challenge into an every other day kinda post challenge lol! Sorry... so sew me! Hubby is TDY again (groan) and as per usual, everything starts to fall apart after he leaves lol! What is it Murphy? Do you like messing with me?! LOL! Anyway... on to the Challenge!

Today is about 7 wants! This should be relatively easy... because quite frankly there is alot I want LOL! Oh come on! Don't look at me like that... ;)

7) I really want to go get some Tato Nut Donuts this morning... I have a serious hankering for some pralines! Those are the kind that I mentioned before, that are my favorite... the ones where its like a cinnamon bun and donut came together and had a love child! Oh so good! So why don't I get in the car and just go get some? I'm trying to behave and be good and say... "I don't need the FATnut, I don't need the FATnut!" LOL!

6) I really want a new wardrobe... (although I should probably lose some more weight first) but I am just sick of my clothes... all I wear for the most part are t-shirt and jeans. I want to be a bit more stylish... Especially with fall just around the corner... I love boots and scarves and sweaters!

5) I want to take my car to get detailed... It REALLY needs it! Between the dog being in there and a messy five year old in the back, my poor car looks like its been through the ringer! I also need to get 2 crusty stickers off the back of my window, I have no idea how to remove them... they seem to be stuck on with super glue! So.... if any of you have any tips on how to get it off... I'd be grateful! I'd also like to replace the hub cap that fell off about a month ago when the city was reparing a street and they failed to put cones around the giant hole in the ground! I was so P-O'ed when I saw I was missing a hub cap... it just bugs me, it makes me feel like my car looks trashy LOL!

4) I want a mini break... just me and say mom to go on a little adventure/vacation together... I know for one she needs it (work has been stressing her) and it would be fun just the two of us. With him going TDY alot lately I'd love to just be able to pack up and leave for a week or two... I'm not resentful, its just that well... when hes gone... everything and I mean EVERYTHING falls on my shoulders and sometimes that can be a bit much. I guess I would just like to have the rolls reversed just once... and believe me... his TDY's are the fun kind... the kind where I'm seriously jealous of the places he gets to go to, espeically the next one... :P

3) I want "A Good Day to Pie" by: Carol Culver... surprise, surprise... a book LOL! I seriously can't find it anywhere in the stores around here and I can't figure out why. I can buy it on amazon but its too expensive (I think) for a paperback. I also want the new Sookie Stackhouse book of Novella but I'm not paying $36.00 for short stories. I also want to buy the last J.R. Ward book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series which is Paynes story... but again, I can't see paying over $30.00 for a hardback. I'll just wait till they all come out on paperback. Call me crazy but I like paperback better.

2) I want dad to go to the doctors and get checked out... he worries me... he is a stubborn Irishman (yeah, a real one) and will NOT, under any circumstances go to the doctor... Mom thinks his skin cancer is back again (he had it last year, and actually had it removed...believe me I was shocked he actually went to the doctor about it!) and his hips are bothering him, so much that after 10-15 minutes of walking and he has to sit down before he falls down. He has also started to walk with a limp, I wonder if he might have bone cancer. There are other signs too, like when he gets hurt he doesn't heal as quickly anymore and he has numbness in his lower extremities. Bottom line... I just want him to go to the doctor, get checked out, let them do some tests on him and figure out what's going on.

1) I want a baby... but I think you all know this by now. We are slowly approching our dreaded anniversary of when we started this "baby making adventure" I am sick to death of people telling me it will happen, when it happens. That is really not true in my case, I have documented proof that my body just will not work, without medical help and treatments. Which by the way... I am sick of! I don't think I have ever taken this many pills in all my life! I wish it could come naturally... I do... women who become pregnant naturally really have no idea how good they have it! I can deal with alot of pain trust me... but the emotional scars this is putting on my heart is taking its toll on me. I have my good days and I have my bad days... and I try not to let the bad days show that much. I have SEVERAL (Five to be exact) on Facebook right now that are pregnant, I am truly happy for them, and am not bitter one bit. I just wish I could be part of the club too... I won't lie, it gets hard to read their status's about feeling the baby kick, and picking out furniture and going over names and stuff like that, and with each passing day it gets harder and harder to believe it will happen for me. I am out of faith, and emotionally spent, yet some how I manage to truck on... *sigh*

Now I wish I could have ended this on a happier note... lol! How bout a joke?

A pregnant woman and her husband go to her doctor for her first check up. This is her first pregnancy. The doctor asks her an her husband if they have any questions or concerns. The husband replies, "Well, I'm a little worried about her pain. How much will childbirth hurt?"
The doctor answered, "Well, that varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy and besides, it's difficult to describe pain."
"I know, but can't you give me some idea?" he asks.

The doctor says ok, and asks him to;
"Grab your upper lip and pull it out a little..."
"Like this?"
"A little more..."
"Like this?"
"No. A little more..."
"Like this?"
"Yes. Does that hurt?"
"A little bit."

"Now stretch it over your head!"

LMAO! Have a great day guys! :)

10 Day You Challenge: Day 6

Hi!
Did ya have a good weekend?
Miss me?
Of course you did! ;)

I'm back at it with the challenge;
sorry I've been taking the weekend (and apparently yesterday as well) off to do family stuff, new dog stuff and well... general housework lol.

So today is all about places! Woohoo! Another of my favorite subjects!
And I'm supposed to list six of them!

Hmmm where should I start?
Where I've been? Where I am? Where I would love to go?
Decisions... decisions.
How bout a bit of it all.

As some of you might know, or might not know... I was born in Germany a city called Heilbronn its about 30 minutes North of Stuttgart and located in the Southwestern region of the country in the state of Baden-Württemberg. I lived there till I was 5 and then moved to the states. All of my mom's side of the family still live there. I used to go back to visit just about every summer when I was young and on summer break. It's been a while since the last time I visited though, which was in 2005. I really hope to get back at least some time within the next 4 years or so, I miss it alot and I miss the family. Seems like when I'm not there we forget about each other, only recently have we started talking through facebook, but even that isn't very much :(

I grew up in (back then) a small town called Lehigh Acres, Florida. Its a town in South West Florida about 2 hours South of Tampa Florida or 3 hours South of Orlando Florida. Growing up there I saw lots of changes. As far back as I can remember and for the longest time we only had a publix grocery store, a shell gas station, a dairy queen, a dunkin donuts, a post office, a sheriff's department, the bank where my momma still works (24 years later) a pizza place called Ike's, a Chinese restaurant called China Star, a McDonalds, an Elementary school and a Middle school. The Elementary school that I went to was just finished being built the year I moved to Lehigh. I remember walking in on the first day of school and still smelling the new paint and carpets. I can remember when Wal-Mart finally came to town! LOL! Later on as I grew up the town got bigger and more people came to stay in the early 1990's the population was only about 9,000 people and now its estimated between 70,000 to 80,000 people... my how things have grown huh? Its not quite the same town as it used to be though, I used to be that I could walk into just about any store and see either a friend or family member and now its nothing but strangers but *sigh* I guess that's what happens when you move away... right? My parents still live there so I go back from time to time but, it will never quite be the same for me as while I was growing up there.

My first big move was after the hubby and I started dating. He was stationed out at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. My oh my... what a HUGE change that was and talk about culture, weather and landscape shock! I couldn't have picked a more different state to be transplanted to LOL! Six years later and you can see it was well worth the move. ;)
I actually grew to love living in Oklahoma. I actually would move back there, given the chance. Hubby on the other hand would rather make Hell his new address first LOL!
I admit there are some harsh weather conditions... like 5-6 feet of snow and blizzards during the winter. Soaring over 100 degrees in the summer and let's not forget the Tornados! I was used to Hurricanes having grown up in Florida so I thought I had a handle on "these little Tornado's" boy, was I ever wrong! They are nothing like going through a Hurricane... there is sometimes little to no warning before it happens and then boom! Its right in your back yard! Yes, living in Oklahoma was sooooo different! There's no real sweet tea, I mean there's sweet tea but no Southern style SWEET tea... they make theirs by dumping the sugar in it after its already made! YUCK! Us Southerner's dump a hell of a lot of sugar in it while the thing's still brewing and then dump some more in just after while its cooling LOL! They also love to fry interesting things... like... Oreo's and Twinkies... and Snickers bars. And they think I'm crazy when I ask for some boiled peanuts?! Everyone kept asking me why I would want some boiled Penis... apparently I have an accent LOL! They do have some awesome steaks! Best steaks I've probably ever had in my life, was while we lived in Oklahoma. Also some of the cheapest gas prices I've ever seen! It's also where I first learned to drive in snow and walk, or should I say skate on ice in the Wal-Mart parking lot. It's the first place I've "bunkered" (we say hunker down in Florida) down in a closet for a tornado, and it's where my munchkin was born! She is a native Sooner! Yes, Oklahoma I learned to love you.

Then we moved to Georgia... Augusta, Georgia. Your might have heard of it if your a golfer. It's where they hold the Master's Golf Tournament every year. It was also the birthplace to the god father of soul; James Brown. Augusta is located about half way up the Savannah River, about 2 hours East of Atlanta Georgia and about 10 minutes from the South Carolina border. It's the city I've ever lived in that has 2 counties in it, Richmond County and Columbia County. It's also home to one of the LARGEST Army training posts in the country! In the 1700's it used to be the capital of Georgia before the great fires of the 1800's and the great "Burning of Atlanta".
It was an interesting place to live, definitely not my favorite place to live but I did meet some of the greatest people there, and that is what it made it worth while! I do miss its changing of the season's it had some of the most beautiful fall foliage I've ever seen and I also miss driving up and down the hills.

After Georgia we PCS'ed to Biloxi Mississippi and that is where we are currently living. Biloxi lies directly on the Gulf of Mexico and is home to the Mississippi Sound and a lot of barrier islands. Biloxi was first founded by the French in 1559 and has over 400 years of history to it. It was also owned by both the British and the Spanish in the 1700's and later was claimed by America and admitted to the union in 1817. Biloxi for me, has by far the most interesting history! It's amazing that it's history goes back as far as some of the first settlers in our country! However, not all that history is pretty... Biloxi is host to hundreds of battles and a few wars with lots of bloodshed and heartache. You can just imagine the paranormal stuff that goes on here... ;)
Two of the biggest hurricanes to effect the area were Hurricane Camile (a category 5 Hurricane) in 1969 and Hurricane Katrina (a category 5 Hurricane) in 2005. Hubby was actually deployed down here and to New Orleans right after Katrina struck; I can remember talking with him on the phone and him describing it looking like someone dropped a bomb on the gulf coast.
Since then though, the city and the whole gulf coast has worked VERY hard in its clean up and rebuilding efforts. Now, you can barely see the scars of the city, in fact you might never known a Hurricane of that magnitude had ever been through here unless you visit the Katrina Memorial. The Memorial sits across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, it stands over 14 feet tall to symbolize the standing water after the storm, on that wall is a list of names from the lives of local people the storm took. It is a very beautiful yet somber place.
I think my favorite things about the living down here is the hospitality and general pleasantry of the people... I swear the Cajuns invented hospitality along with their food! And the food! My goodness! I don't think I've ever eaten so many good thing's till I moved down here... beignets, muffulettas, crawfish etouffee , gumbo, po-boys... and the list goes on and on! And let's not forget Mardi Gras! (which actually got it's start in Mobile Alabama not New Orleans like everyone thinks) ;) Yes, its a HUGE deal down here! There are parades, and balls, and tons of festivities! Its such a big deal down here that the kids get 3 days off of school just to party! See... told ya... now don't you wish you lived down here?

And where are we going next? Well, if plans work out the way we have them set then it will be Jacksonville, FL. Where the hubby grew up. Yes, we would move back "home" to Florida. There are lots of job opportunities there for hubs. He is not one that will make the Air Force a career, the Air Force has been good to us but with the knowledge and education he has, he is twice a valuable on the outside. Plus it gives a chance to be closer to both our families. I think I will miss the moves, the traveling, and the getting to see other parts of the country but it will be good to finally call a place "home" again. :)

10 Day You Challenge Day 5

Food! Foooooood! FOOOOOOOOD!
Today's about food and I'm starving already! LOL!

Let's see... Five food's eh?

# 1) I would give just about anything to be able to go back to Heilbronn (My town in Germany) and have lunch a the Silzer. I am in desperate need of Curry Wurst! My mom's bestie sent over some packets so I can make my own... but its just a poor substitute for the Silzer... nothing compares to an afternoon of walking around downtown and then stopping in the Silzer for a bite to eat... OMG! Heaven! And in case you don't know or have ever seen Curry Wurst before, it looks like:

Yes, comes with a Brötchen (roll) to sop up the extra sauce. And usually is followed with a side of Pommes frites or what we Southern German like to say... just Pommes (French Fries/Fries) ;)

#2) I miss my momma's cooking too... speaking of German. I miss particularly her Goulash. It is COMPETELY different than any kind of American Goulash you can think of. No! I am not talking about sticking ground hamburger, corn and whatever else in a crock pot and boiling it for 10 hours straight. That, to me is just gross... no, what I am talking about is pressure cooked tender meat cooked in a special family tradition recipe of hot, spicy Hungarian style sauce. Why Hungarian you might ask? Becuase I though you were German Jess? I am that is true... my mom's step dad is Hungarian though, and she grew up making Goulash his way. We also serve it over white rice or as a soup with bread as apposed to regular German style with noodles. And seeing how my pressure cooker is broken right now (I'll have to have the family send me a new one from Germany soon) I miss making it. My mom still make's it the best though.

# 3) Beignets! OMG! My favorite "local" food... seriously I could eat them all the time and everyday! Yummmmmmy! In my best opinion I love the ones from Cafe Beignet in NOLA the most! :)

# 4) Since were on the subject of local food... I love me some po-boys! My favorite place to get them is Po-Boy express! In case your not sure what a po-boy is... it's very similar to a sub but sooooo much more and soooo much better! You can put just about anything on them but traditionally they are shrimp and oyster made.

I like them from Po-Boy Express in Ocean Springs, its about a 15 min drive from home but well worth it! My favorites are the steak bomb, the hammer head with gravy, cajun shrimp and the italian chicken! Mmmm mmm!

# 5) Would be hot wings! I love hot wings! The best place I've ever had them was in Oklahoma City at this little place called Wings 2 Go. They are part of a small chain but it was family owned and they had some of the nicest people there. My favorite were the buffalo garlic wings! Mmmm!

10 Day You Challenge: Day 4

Today is all about books! YAY! One of my favorite subjects to blog about! (as if you couldn't tell lol!) I'm gonna do this like I did yesterday, because you all liked that right?! ;)

So for my current reading status; I am in the midst of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood book # 8- Lover Mine, and so far it is fantastic! Obviously, since I'm more than half way through the book already and I've only been reading it for 2 days! That is how most of her books go for me though, they are so good I just can't put them down and before I know it I'm done. I have tried taking my time reading these books, because I want them to last. Yes, they are THAT good! If you haven't read them yet, and your into paranormal romance (basically vampires but oh-so-much-sexier than your little sisters twilight books) I highly recommend them! Go, now... RUN to your nearest bookstore and buy the whole set, because once you've read the first, you'll want to read them all! I will truly be sad once I've read the whole series, but I know they are so good I will want to read them over and over again. :)

Next up on my reading list is a cozy mystery... only I am stuck on deciding between two... they are both new author's to me and I own both, so it does not matter which I read first. Hey! I've got it! I'll let you guys decide! Here... I'll even give you a short blurb on both... and just put your vote in the comment box below ;) Kinda fun telling me what to do right?! LOL! I'm like your little reading puppet for you to command... ;)

(Vote for me! Vote for me!)
A Sheet Cake Named Desire (A Piece of Cake Mystery) by: Jacklyn Brady

New Orleans pastry chef Rita Lucero is out to bake her way to the top. But when she finds her almost-ex-husband killed with a chef's knife in his back, she becomes suspect number one. Now it's up to her to find the real killer before she winds up as the next victim served.

(No, no, no... Vote for me! Vote for me!) Tempest in the Tea Leaves (A Fortune Telle
r Mystery) by: Kari Lee Townsend

Using various fortune telling tools to interpret her visions, Sunny seeks to aid the residents of Divinity, New York. But when she uses tea leaves to read the frazzled town librarian, what lies at the bottom of the cup is anything but helpful.

And finally... what book I can't wait to hit the shelves next is... Jenn McKinlay's next awesome book in her Cupcake Bakery Mystery Books. It's her third book in the series and I have a feeling I'm going to love it like her other two! I'm a big fan of her work and love that I can actually chat back and forth with her through comments on facebook, yeah shes cool like that!

So there you have it! Straight from Jess's bookshelves... ;)

10 Day You Challenge: Day 3

Today is day three of my 10 day challenge, I took a wittle break over the weekend...sorry... had laundry and other house crap to do ;)

I've been thinking about today's post though for a while... its not real specific about what kinda films, so I thought... what should I write about? One's I seen recently on DVD? Ones I've been to the movies to see? Ones that I want to see soon? So I'm actually gonna give you an answer to each of those categories.

Let's start off with one that I have seen recently on DVD. That would be RIO, I'll give you a guess as to which one of us in the family wanted to watch RIO ;) I didn't think I would be really interested in watching it at first, but for the munchkin's sake I sat pretty and tried to act like wanted to pay attention... after the first 10 minutes though, it didn't feel like a chore... I actually wanted to watch it! Its a really cute kids movie and has some great actors & actress's voices in it as well, and in the end I was glad we watch it.

The last movie I saw in the movie theater was; Captain America. It was by far my favorite marvel movie. Yes, it even beats out both Iron Man movies & The Spiderman Trilogy, I love it that much! I loved everything about it, the way it showed why America needed a superhero then, how- no matter how small and weak your perceived to be, a true hero comes from your heart and draws its strength from your courage. I loved how it was mostly true to the comic books. It had a great plot and a great group of actors, I cant wait till next summer when they come out with the Avengers movie! Its gonna be so bad ass!

And the movie I'm dying to see in theater's is Fright Night! I just hope it's as good as the original back in 1985. It's a cult classic and I hope they do it justice with the new one. It is a remake of the orginial so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.... I almost HATE when Hollywood does remakes of movies... I just don't get it... the original's are classic, why mess with that? Like for example... they are remaking Footloose and Dirty Dancing... yeah I can just see Patrick Swayze rolling his eyes in his grave right now. Boy, I sound optimistic don't I? We'll truth be told... Colin Farrell is in the new Fright Night, so all hope can't be lost. He is one of my favorite "bad boys". ;)

10 Day You Challenge: Day 2

Day two is all about two songs. It doesn't say specifically what kinda songs... so I'm just going to go with my two current addictions. :)

So my first choice and the song that I absolutely love lately while crusin down the beach in the vette with the top off and the wind in my hair is by; Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks. It's just such a laid back, awesome song!

And my second favorite lately is; Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine - Stereo Love
I just love the song! The Melody combined with a candy sweet rap is awesome! And then the bits of string mixed in there is great!

Hope you all have a sing along with the radio in your car, and dance with your mop or broom kinda day! :)

10 Day You Challenge: Day 1

Yup, I'm doing it... why? Because I feel the need to write about something... I like to blog and since I don't have much going on to blog about, I figure I'd use a bit o'help ;)

This blogging challenge is brought to you by one of my excellent blogging friends; Christina over at Simply Christina She's pretty awesome, so go check her blog out!

So without further ado... today's Challenge Day number 1: A Picture of Yourself.

It's not a recent one, but it's one that I've recently edited in Photoshop while playing with textures and color. I really love how it turned out but I hate that the door is still in the upper right corner of the. I guess I should have edited that out huh? LOL! Hey, I never said I was perfect at it all. I remember taking this photo, it was while we were still living in our crummy apartment in Georgia (off post) but right outside the gate of hell Fort Gordon's Army Post.
I took the picture back when I was doing a 365 photo challenge and that day I needed a "thinker" pose. This was my interpitation of Auguste Rodin's The Thinker. My hair was suuuuuper long back then and I miss that now.
